'Always tough' - Morecambe boss Derek Adams's verdict on Wanderers

Morecambe boss Derek Adams says Wanderers are “always tough” to play against ahead of Tuesday night’s trip to the UniBol.

The Whites have picked up five points from their opening three league matches this season, including an emphatic 3-0 win against Wycombe Wanderers.

Meanwhile, the Shrimps are searching for their first league win of the new campaign though they did overcome Championship side Stoke City on penalties in the Carabao Cup.

“Bolton have started the season very well,” Adams told the club’s YouTube channel.

“They are always tough when we go there. We have played well but in the past they have been able to win.

“We are just looking to take on the performances we have had - we are undefeated at home this season.”

Morecambe were held to a 1-1 draw against Fleetwood Town at the Mazuma Stadium over the weekend.

Former Bolton midfielder Arthur Gnahoua put the Shrimps in front during the fist half but the visitors hit back through Danny Andrew seven minutes from time.

“It was a good game that went from end to end and I felt we should have been three, four or even five goals up at half-time with the chances we had,” Adams added.

“Their keeper made some great saves and I’m not sure how he made some of them, and we hit the post as well. We were dominant.

“We scored a fantastic goal and we stopped them playing at the same time, but they had the better of the second half and created chances.

“We looked a bit tired on a really hot day and, in the end, they came away with a draw.”

The points were shared when the sides met at the UniBol last season, with Jon Dadi Bodvarsson scoring a dramatic late equaliser for the Whites.
