Amir Khan spots flaws in Manny Pacquiao’s game despite impressing vs Keith Thurman

Amir Khan claimed he saw signs that Manny Pacquiao has slipped despite his impressive win over Keith Thurman as the Brit lines up a fight for later in the year against the legendary Filipino.

Khan beat the overmatched Billy Dib in comfortable fashion this month to begin his foray into Saudi Arabia as he enters the final years of his career.

And the former unified world champion is already preparing to return to the Kingdom on November 8, though Pacquiao has since dismissed initial claims he has already signed a contract to fight Khan following his victory over Thurman.

Pacquiao produced his best performance for years, dropping the American in the first round and then outpointed him via split decision, yet Khan is adamant there were still signs of encouragement for him.

“It was a very good performance, Manny boxed really well against a really good fighter,” Khan told The Independent.

“His timing was there, his movement was there, his power was there. It was like he was boxing like a young Manny Pacquiao.

“But, his speed has dropped a little bit. He’s not quite as accurate with his punches like he was before.

“And his defence is quite low as well. So there are ways of catching him.

“Overall he’s a very good fighter still though, I’m not saying I’m better than him, I’m saying it would be an amazing fight and he’s a legend.”

Amir Khan was speaking at The Great Financial Trading Conference in partnership with online financial trading broker Think Markets. As part of their collaboration, they run the ‘Ring the Changes’ initiative to support under-privileged youth across the UK.
