Fans of The Big Bang Theory have been waiting since last season’s finale, when Sheldon (Jim Parsons) unexpectedly appeared at Amy’s (Mayim Bialik) door on one knee, to find out Amy’s response to his proposal. So, you could imagine their frustration when Sheldon’s phone rang just as she was about to respond, and their shock when he actually answered it. However, once he finally finished his phone call with Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki), Amy finally got to give her long-awaited answer. Good news — she said yes!
Sheldon and Amy’s engagement wasn’t the only thing being celebrated in the season premiere. While the couple shared the news with their group of friends, new parents Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) discovered that they were pregnant, again. It was a big shocker to everyone that it’s still possible to get pregnant while breastfeeding!
As for Penny and Leonard, they were totally fine not needing to celebrate anything. Especially a pregnancy. Although it turns out they actually did have something to celebrate — their anniversary. Whoops!
Check out Jim Parsons gushing over his marriage and comparing it to “being close to God”:
