Russell Anderson has left Derby after the defender's contract was cancelled by mutual consent.
Anderson joined the Rams in January 2010 after an injury-hit spell at Sunderland and his deal was due to expire at the end of the season.
However, the former Scotland international has endured further injury troubles and manager Nigel Clough has taken the decision to allow Anderson to move on.
"Russell is a fantastic professional who moves on with our very best wishes," Clough told the club's official website.
"He has been unlucky with a few injuries and the form of other players during his time with us, but throughout the last two years his attitude has been first class and he has been nothing but a positive influence in the dressing room."
Injuries restricted Anderson to just 33 appearances during his time at Pride Park. His last game for Derby came against Cardiff in early November when the 33-year-old suffered a hamstring injury which is expected to keep him out until well into the new year.
