Andy Murray has set himself a target of achieving 800-career match wins before he retires from tennis and Tennis365 will keep you up to date to how close he is to said goal.

After his fine run at the Qatar Open where he finished runner-up, Murray was asked about his goals and he replied: “I still have ambitions of winning tournaments and having deep runs in major events, you know, winning a certain number of matches in my career.

“I’d like to try to get to 800 match wins, which, I don’t know, I think I’m like 75 away from that.”

It was a good guess from Murray as he was 77 wins away from the magical 800 at the time, but he has picked up a few wins since then.

As previously suggested, if he continues to win about 25 matches per season then he should reach his milestone in the next couple of years.

In case you wanted some more statistics, if Murray does get to 800-career match wins then he will slot in at No 4 as it will put him behind Big Three of Roger Federer (1,251), Rafael Nadal (1,068) and Novak Djokovic (1,043).
