Andy Robertson lauds 'excellent' Darwin Nunez after 'patient' remark against Bournemouth
Andy Robertson was full of praise for "excellent" Darwin Nunez following the striker's impressive display against Bournemouth.
The Reds ran out 3-0 winners over their Premier League rivals on Saturday thanks to another Luis Diaz brace and a stunning strike from the Uruguayan, which stunned all those inside Anfield as well as the millions watching from home.
Cutting in from the right-hand side following a neat one-two with Mohamed Salah, the 25-year-old unleashed a thunderous strike with his weaker left foot into the far corner of the Bournemouth goal to all-but seal three points for the hosts before half-time had even arrived.

The occasion was particularly special for Nunez as it also marked his first start of the season, having been forced to settle for a place on the bench for the first five games of the campaign. But after being handed his chance to impress by Arne Slot against Bournemouth - he made sure he didn't regret it.
And Robertson, in particular, couldn't speak highly enough of his teammate following an impressive showing. Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live after the game, the Scotsman said: "Darwin [Nunez] has had to be patient. He has worked hard in training, trying to get better like we all have.
"He has waited for his chance and today he was excellent. Luis [Diaz] has started the season really well, delighted for those two. He [Nunez] was waiting for his chance and he took it today."
Nunez had replaced fellow striker Diogo Jota in the starting lineup after the Portuguese started the first five games of the new season, contributing with a goal and an assist. But after three games without a goal contribution, it was Nunez's time to shine this weekend.
And after his stunning goal and impressive all-round performance, he'll now be hoping to maintain his run in the side when the Reds welcome West Ham in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, before a return to Premier League action away to Wolves next weekend.
But the result in itself against Bournemouth marked a return to winning ways in the top flight for the Reds after falling victim to a shock 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at Anfield last time out. Liverpool did, of course, bounce back with Tuesday's 3-1 victory over AC Milan in the Champions League, but the league is the primary objective this season.
Robertson reiterated this following the victory over Bournemouth, where he also played a big part in keeping another clean sheet. "Really happy," he said of today's win. "Obviously last week it was disappointing, but we managed to bounce back Tuesday [against AC Milan] - it was about getting back on track in the league."
