Andy Robertson and Lawrence Shankland Scotland injury latest as duo forced out of first Euro 2024 training session

Andy Robertson and Lawrence Shankland earlier provided a scare by both being forced off the Scotland training pitch.

Steve Clarke's squad are putting on an open training session at their training base in Germany after arriving yesterday and being welcomed during a special event last night. First, the Hearts striker was seen leaving the training pitch and going inside.

A little bit further into the session, captain Robertson then hit the ground with an issue and the physios rushed to be by his side before taking him off the pitch to work with him in the gym area. Both were able to walk freely so it was be hoped their removal from the session was purely precautionary in both cases.

That proved to be the case as Robertson was seen in a relaxed mood and having a laugh and a joke with SFA Performance Director Graeme Jones, suggesting there is nothing serious to worry about. And BBC Scotland are reporting that both players are okay.

Clarke has already been robbed of the services of Lyndon Dykes who was stretchered out of a training session in Glasgow before the squad jetted out and Lewis Ferguson, Nathan Patterson and Aaron Hickey who are long-term absentees and weren't able to be included in the provisional squad.

The boss would've been hoping to get through to the opener against the host nation without any more problems but instead has seen two players pull up in the very first session out there. Stuart Armstrong, who missed the end of Southampton's season, has been doing running on his own as he builds himself back up.
