Ange Postecoglou has defiantly vowed to bring silverware to struggling Tottenham THIS season in a spiky interview with Sky Sports.

The ex-Celtic boss led Spurs to fifth spot in his debut campaign last year and his swashbuckling style of football instantly won over fans. But the Aussie is feeling the heat this term having picked up just four points from the club's opening four Premier League games.

The North London side shelled out more than £120million on new signings across the summer as the likes of Dominic Solanke and Archie Gray checked into the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in big-money deals. However, yesterday's defeat at home to bitter rivals Arsenal has sparked questions as to whether Postecoglou will be able to end Spurs' 14-year trophy drought.

Postecoglou was on record last year stating that his teams are always successful during his second term in charge. And now, the Hoops Treble-winner has doubled down on that assessment during a fiery interview with a Sky Sports reporter. Speaking after yesterday's 1-0 loss, Postecoglou was asked if he still believes his side have what it takes to win silverware and compete at the top.

The question appeared to irk Postecoglou as he interrupted: "Am I going to answer the question or are you going to keep asking it? No absolutely, I'll correct myself I don't usually win things I always win things in my second year. Nothing's changed."

Pressed again by the reporter if he's seeing enough from his side that fills him with confidence, irritated Postecoglou added: "I've just said it now. I don't say things unless I believe them."

Since beginning his managerial career with South Melbourne, Postecoglou has been a serial winner across most of his senior jobs, lifting trophies with Brisbane Roar, Yokohama F. Marinos and Celtic. He also guided Australia to successive World Cup qualifications in 2014 and 2018.
