Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout has been placed on the paternity list, the MLB franchise announced on Thursday.
Trout is set to become a father for the first time, with he and his wife Jessica expecting the birth of a boy.
The three-time American League MVP can be on the paternity list for three days, though Monday's scheduled birth date is an off-day for the Angels.
If Trout requires more time away from the Angels, the eight-time All-Star can be moved to the restricted list.
In six appearances this season, which has been reduced to 60 regular-season games due to the coronavirus pandemic, Trout has two extra-base hits, a home run and four RBIs.
