Antonio Conte promised the Tottenham supporters that he wants to make big changes at the club, but that it will take time for the results to come.

The Italian got his first Premier League win as Spurs boss, as his side came from behind to beat Leeds 2-1.

It was only Conte’s second league match in charge, and he already has his mind set on turning the club’s fortunes around.

“Our supporters have to know we want to change everything,” Conte told SkySports after the match.

“It doesn’t mean we will win every game. But for sure we want to fight and to be a problem every game to our opponents.”

Tottenham were booed off the pitch at half-time, as they made it six successive halves of Premier League football without registering a shot on target.

The intensity was much improved after the break as Conte’s team-talk evidently had an effect, and the manager admitted after the match he is not yet sure about how fit his side are.

“The feeling of the crowd many times depends on us,” Conte said.

“For sure in the first-half, we didn’t play well and we lost many tackles. Maybe to concede a goal in the last minute of the first-half was good.

“Then in the second-half... we changed the plan, and I was very pleased - they showed me a great will, a great to desire to win this game, which wasn’t easy.

“Before the game I was a bit afraid to know after three weeks the physical condition of the players, if they are able to play the whole 90 minutes with the intensity of the second-half.

“I think we deserved to win because we created chances, and we played attractive football. The crowd was with us.”
