Armando Broja wants to join West Ham from Chelsea and transfer talks between the two clubs will ‘ramp up’ over the next three days, as per a report.

Centre-forward Broja hit nine goals in 38 matches during a loan spell at Southampton last season. It doesn’t sound like the most impressive record, but the Albanian did well to adapt to the Premier League during his first campaign in the top flight.

He showed off his pace and power to leave plenty of defenders in his wake. And that loan spell has put several teams on alert, with Chelsea now bracing themselves for offers.

Broja’s representatives want to know if their player will be given first-team opportunities at Stamford Bridge next term.

But Blues officials are yet to respond, forcing Broja and his agent to look at possible exit routes.

One of them is Newcastle, who want another striker to rival Callum Wilson and Chris Wood up front. West Ham And Everton also hold an interest in the 20-year-old.

According to the Evening Standard, Broja has chosen his next destination. He would prefer to sign for West Ham over Newcastle or Everton.

David Moyes’ side have been made aware of this transfer stance and are set to ‘ramp up’ discussions with Chelsea in the next 72 hours.

Armando Broja could end West Ham striker woes

The Irons desperately need a new attacker to provide competition and cover for Michail Antonio. And Broja is the right profile thanks to his age, potential and Prem experience.

West Ham haven’t had much success in their striker search during recent transfer windows. But a raid on Chelsea could now occur to bolster Moyes’ forward options.

According to recent report from The Athletic, Broja wants a permanent transfer, rather than another loan switch. This will give him a chance to properly settle at his next club.

As a result, West Ham will have to spend a decent amount of money to sign the 14-cap international. transfermarkt value Broja at £19.8million, although Chelsea could demand more than this after his impressive loan spell at St Mary’s.

It makes sense for Broja to prioritise a West Ham move over Newcastle and Everton.

The east London outfit have finished in the top seven in the last two campaigns. Due to this, they have enjoyed plenty of European nights and will continue to do so next season.

Signing for West Ham will give Broja the chance to play in the Europa Conference League. It is not the biggest competition, but it will still hand him a decent stage to shine on.

Newcastle would be a good fit for the player too, and they are also on an upward trajectory. However, Newcastle aren’t quite at West Ham’s level just yet – perhaps Broja doesn’t want to wait for their long-term project to reach completion.

An Everton bid for the Chelsea man was always going to be ambitious. They only just avoided relegation last season and Broja doesn’t want to be near the bottom of the table when choosing his next permanent side.

Meanwhile, West Ham have had a second bid for Lille midfielder Amadou Onana pushed back, according to a Sky Sports journalist.
