Arne Engels made his pro debut at Signal Iduna Park. But the Celtic star insists Parkhead is just as LOUD as Borussia Dortmund's famous Yellow Wall.

The £11million signing from Augsburg returns to the venue where it all began for him next Tuesday as Celts head to Germany in the Champions League. But rather than be intimidated by the spine-tingling noise inside one of football's most iconic arenas, Engels insists he'll use the incredible atmosphere as fuel to silence the 20,000 fans who pack into the famous South Stand.

The Belgium wonderkid has yet to get the better of Dortmund in four encounters but hopes to finally get one over his former Bundesliga rivals next week.

Recalling his first-team bow, Engels said: "I made my debut there. It was directly in front of 80,000 people. It was crazy, but it did bring the best out of me. It was a 4-3 defeat that day in Dortmund. It was a crazy game. Every time 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, 2-3. It was amazing to play in.

"I was 19. I grabbed an assist, so it was a perfect night for me. Augsburg were already a long time in the Bundesliga. They were in the middle table, or a bit below. So it's obvious that Dortmund was expected to win easily, but it wasn't like that. It was a good game."

Celtic Park is also known around the world for its deafening atmosphere and after experiencing a European night under the lights in the 5-1 thrashing of Slovan Bratislava, Engels insists Hoops fans are just as noisy.

He said: "Here it's also intimidating. It's the same noise, even louder sometimes. So it's nice to play here, when you have the fans with you and not against you. That's also a different feeling and a really nice feeling. It's going to be really good and helpful for me."
