Arne Engels sums up first Celtic Park Champions League experience in one word
Arne Engels admits he was blown away by his first Champions League experience at Celtic Park.
The £11million signing dazzled under the lights last night as the Hoops thrashed Slovan Bratislava 5-1 in Glasgow's east end. Parkhead was absolutely rocking as the updated Champions League anthem was drowned out by a chorus of roars inside the sold-out 60,000 arena.
Brendan Rodgers' side also put on a show as FIVE different goalscorers fired Celts to their first opening-day win in 13 attempts. Belgium wonderkid Engels oozed class as he assisted Liam Scales' thunderous opener and slotted home a quality penalty in only his second star. And the 21-year-old couldn't believe the noise as he lapped up the MENTAL atmosphere.

He said: "It was actually incredible. The noise before the game was mental. It's been amazing - and also the crowd was amazing today. The team was amazing. So it's now up to us to just keep on going, keep on working and don't get sloppy or something.
"We just need to focus on ourselves and that's what we are doing good. I think it will only improve. We are in a good way. I'm always cool. I trust in myself. I know that I can score a penalty really good. It's now up to me to keep on going, keep on working.
"But that's not the most important thing - the most important thing is the win. So we did that really good. We still need to keep on working and we are also improving every game. So we also will be better and better.
"So we just need to keep on looking to ourselves and that is what we are doing really good. We still need to work on some details. I think we will do that in a couple of days, couple of weeks and we are still going to be improving every day.
"I just need to work every day to get a relationship with everybody. I'm still just here for a week and a half. It's getting busy and it's another game at the weekend. So we also need to focus on that and keep on improving and get a good recovery. It did more than live up to my expectations.
"Also the sound in the beginning from the Champions League and the crowd was just unbelievable. I never experienced something like this. It really helped us and you see it in the game also that we get real energy from the crowd and that's what we love."
Engels added: "It's up to us now to keep on going and keep on performing like this. Like I said, it's been an amazing one and a half weeks or two weeks. So I cannot wait to see the next games and the next weeks coming. We have a busy schedule but we have a really good squad.
"We still need to keep on working on ourselves and believing in ourselves. And you see today that if we keep on running and keep on making the game really hard for the opponent, then we can beat everybody."
