Arne Slot's odds to be fired by Liverpool before end of season emerge
Arne Slot's odds to be fired by Liverpool before the end of the season have emerged as the Premier League gets up and running for the 2024-25 campaign.
The Dutchman actually got off to the perfect start with Saturday's 2-0 victory over newly-promoted Ipswich Town and will be hoping to use it as a springboard for the remainder of the season.
It followed up an impressive pre-season campaign with the Reds, which saw victories over Real Betis, Arsenal, Manchester United and Sevilla as Liverpool won four of its six friendlies this summer.

There are, of course, much bigger tests to come but Slot has made a good impression at Anfield so far and will hope to keep his perfect start going when his side take on Brentford this weekend. However, following in Jurgen Klopp's footsteps naturally brings with it huge expectations, and the Dutchman cannot afford to crumble under the pressure.
And as one of five new managers to take to the hot seat at their respective clubs this summer, Slot will be hoping that he isn't the first one out in the new campaign. As it goes, however, the latest odds for the 45-year-old to be fired before the end of the season provide plenty of promise.
Betfair has Slot down at a respectable 25/1 to be dismissed during his first campaign, placing him as the joint-third favorite alongside Manchester City's Pep Guardiola to remain at the helm throughout the duration of the 2024-25 season.
And of all five managers who have started their new roles this summer, he is expected to remain the longest. Chelsea's Enzo Maresca is currently the favorite to be the first Premier League manager sacked at 11/2, shortly followed by West Ham's Julen Lopetegui at 15/2.
Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “Enzo Maresca is the 11/2 favourite to be the first Premier League manager to lose their job in the 2024/25 season. Julen Lopetegui follows behind at 15/2, with Sean Dyche and Erik ten Hag both 9/1. Todd Boehly hasn’t been shy in sacking managers since arriving at Chelsea, with Maresca Evens to be gone before the season ends and 5/1 to leave before Christmas Day.”
