Arsenal are reportedly ‘candidates’ for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot with it now ‘most likely’ that he will move to the Premier League.
The Gunners were busy in the summer transfer market. Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Fabio Vieira have all hit the ground running at the Emirates.
But Arsenal did not do all the business they wanted in the summer as they were also targeting a centre-midfielder and winger.
They looked to bring in Douglas Luiz on deadline day but they were unable to tempt Aston Villa into a sale.
Rabiot was targeted by Man Utd in the summer before the Red Devils brought in Casemiro from Real Madrid for £60m.
Man Utd were said to be willing to make Rabiot one of their highest earners. But with his agent and mother demanding ‘in excess’ of the €7m yearly salary he earns with Juventus, United withdrew their offer.
The 27-year-old has featured regularly for Juventus this term but he is set to be out of contract at the end of this season.
Tutto Juve (via Sport Witness) are reporting that Juventus are under ‘serious difficulty’ when negotiating with Rabiot’s agent with him now in the final year of his deal.
It is said that Rabiot ‘has requested a deal worth €10m per year’ and this is ‘impossible’ for Juventus to match.
The report adds that a summer move to the Premier League is ‘most likely’ and Arsenal are a ‘candidate’ for his signature.
Guido Rodriguez is another player who has been linked with the Premier League in recent months. Man Utd have unsurprisingly been sniffing around him according to reports.
The Argentina international joined Real Betis during the 2019/20 campaign.
The defensive midfielder has played 109 times for the Spanish side and he has been in fine form at the start of this season.
Rodriguez performed brilliantly on Thursday night against AS Roma in the Europa League. He got on the scoresheet as Betis beat Jose Mourinho’s side 2-1.
Fichajes are reporting that Real Betis ‘run the risk of losing him in the upcoming markets’ as ‘several clubs have noticed him’.
His contract is due to expire in 2024 and Liverpool, Everton and Arsenal ‘have already tested his contract for last summer’.
It is said that Real Betis ‘fear the worst’ as they feel that they may be forced into selling the 28-year-old for a reduced fee if he does not extend his deal.
The report notes that Rodriguez only joined Betis for €4m in 2020. They ‘will try to get at least €30m’ for him if he is sold in the coming months.
