The Arsenal squad have all expressed their delight at securing a third consecutive away win in the North London Derby against Tottenham. Gabriel Magalhaes scored the only goal of the game as he headed in Bukayo Saka's corner with the matchwinner going on to help his team keep a clean sheet at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Mikel Arteta faced several decisions coming into the clash with Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice both ruled out. Unsurprisingly, given the circumstances, the Arsenal boss was delighted that his team were able to pick up the three points.

"Super happy obviously," he said after the game. "We know what it means to our club and our people to win a North London Derby. We have the power to make them very happy so hopefully we achieved that. On the performance we had good moments and others where we had to suffer.

"We suffered because we had to adapt the plan because of the players that we had available. I loved it. The second we started to get that news, the team got hungrier and hungrier to play that game. It’s a big compliment to everybody at the club to behave in a certain way.

"It’s a tough week coming and instead of finding any excuses we did the opposite. We faced the challenge, played with courage and acknowledged the qualities we had to win the game." With his Arsenal squad getting the job done, they had every right to celebrate long after the final whistle.

On Instagram, William Saliba wrote: "Solid from us today. Always nice to come here and get the W! [winky face emoji] #COYG." His fellow defender Jurrien Timber, making his North London Derby debut, also expressed his delight at the victory.

"Painting North London red for the first time," he wrote. Kai Havertz, Raheem Sterling and Leandro Trossard also made their feelings clear. Saka was another to post on social media following the win with his brief message sending a subtle jibe at Tottenham.

On Instagram, he said: "Still ours! [Pin emoji] @Arsenal [red heart emoji]." Given Arsenal have won four of the last meetings and beyond that, lost just once in the last four years, he has every right to feel that way especially with it being the fifth consecutive game he has contributed to a goal in a North London Derby.

With confidence sure to be high, Arsenal begin another week where the challenges have increased. On Thursday evening they travel to Italy for a Champions League clash against Atalanta and then just three days later they face Manchester City at Etihad Stadium.

And Arteta could be facing those tasks without Saka after he was subbed off late on because of a potential injury. I don’t know," Arteta said. "I made two changes with the front players and suddenly he’s down. I looked at the bench and the options that we had and we had to adapt. I don’t know exactly what it is but he could not continue."
