After yet another dismal display in which Arsenal lost 3-0 to Crystal Palace, things really boiled over as Gunners fans unleashed their latest bout of fury, however, this time, it was firmly aimed at the players.
Manager Arsene Wenger still came in for criticism but it was the players who felt the fans' wrath and, in particular, Hector Bellerin.
In fact, the supporters even refused to hand the ball back to the young Spaniard for a throw in before chanting "you're not fit to wear the shirt" at him.

Scenes. Ball goes out 10 ft from us, fans refuse to send it back to Hector, then shouting "you're not fit to wear the shirt" right at them. pic.twitter.com/F7Qsn4owLS— GoonersInUSA Podcast (@GoonersinUSA) April 10, 2017
Bellerin was just one of a number of flops in the dismal performance which saw their vague hopes of a top four finish virtually extinguished.
The rest of the players were also subjected to the same chant as the young right-back with discontent growing for the failing stars at the club.
At the end of the match, a select few, including Alexis Sanchez, attempted to apologise to fans but even the Chilean was poorly received and departed the pitch quickly.
Surprisingly, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who did not start the game, was well received by fans despite recently expressing his desire to leave the club.
After the match, the criticism did not cease with Gunners fans unleashing yet more frustration at the team bus as it left Selhurst Park. It seems as if the players are now facing the same treatment as Wenger.
The north London giants really are in a sorry state and after perhaps their worst night under Wenger's leadership, they need their manager to announce his future soon, otherwise, the hatred from fans could spiral further out of control.
