Arsenal will begin their Premier League campaign with a short trip to newly-promoted Fulham after the fixtures for the 2020-21 season were confirmed on Thursday.

The FA Cup winners travel to Craven Cottage on opening day on September 12, before another all-London clash against West Ham one week later is followed by an early-season battle with reigning champions Liverpool at Anfield on September 26.

Arsenal also face trips to both Manchester clubs in the early weeks of the season, while the first north London derby of the campaign takes place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on December 5.

Spurs visit the Emirates for the return fixture on March 13.

Mikel Arteta is embarking on his first pre-season with the Gunners, having been appointed last December, and will look to build on his FA Cup triumph from earlier this month.

The squad will return to training knowing who their first opponents are, with Arteta demanding the same hunger and desire which saw him clinch his first trophy as manager inside eight months in the job.

Willian is already through the door as a new signing, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's new contract will soon follow suit, as Arteta starts to make his mark on the squad.

A highly tumultuous season saw three different men at the helm at the Emirates Stadium and ended with a worst Premier League finish for 25 years, so the only way is up for Arteta.
