Arsenal will be consistently keeping an eye on what their Premier League title rivals do in the weeks and months to come. Now more than ever they are beholden to what happens at Liverpool and Manchester City if they are to go and win the title in 2025.

Liverpool lead the way in the Premier League, nine points clear of Arsenal after 11 games of the season. City are five points adrift of the Reds, but consequently four ahead of the Gunners at this moment in time.

City have been dropping points of late - like Arsenal have, with Mikel Arteta's team winless in their last four outings - and the Gunners will need that to continue, and for the Reds to start dropping points, if they are to haul themselves back into contention.

It is not only about what Arsenal can do, it's about what happens at the Etihad Stadium and Anfield too now.

And if Arsenal are to have any hope, they may need their rivals to suffer some injury problems like Arteta has already had to deal with this season.

But there is mixed news in that department when it comes to Arsenal's title rivals. According to our friends at the Manchester Evening News, eight of the ten Man City players that have been on the injured list could return to the fold for the big game with Arsenal's north London rivals Tottenham on Saturday evening.

There have been question marks over the fitness of Phil Foden, Ruben Dias, Jeremy Doku, Manuel Akanji, John Stones, Jack Grealish, Nathan Ake and Matheus Nunes. But Tottenham at home has been named as the potential return date for all eight. Rodri and Oscar Bobb remain long-term injured.

However, at Liverpool, Arne Slot could be without four players for the match away at Southampton. According to the Liverpool Echo, Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota were sidelined before the international break and look set to remain out injured, while Harvey Elliott has returned to training, but it may well be too soon for him to return.

Trent Alexander-Arnold went off injured in the win over Aston Villa before the break and looks set to miss out too. Slot will be hoping the Reds have enough without those four against lowly Southampton to pick up three points.
