Striker 'target' breaks silence on future
RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has dismissed continued speculation about his future amid links to Arsenal.
Sesko was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in the summer before signing a new contract with Leipzig. Now the striker has explained why he is not thinking too long-term when it comes to his future.
“I don’t comment on transfer rumours," Sesko told Italian news outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport. "I’m happy in Leipzig and that’s why I recently extended my contract.
"I want to achieve even more great things here, Leipzig wants to grow a lot and I want to accompany the team on this very intriguing journey.”
football.london says: Arsenal were heavily linked with signing a striker in the summer, with Sesko rumoured to be one of the players of interest. It would not be a surprise if Sesko is a genuine target for the Gunners, but given the recent contract extension, it would likely cost a sizable transfer fee.
Arsenal battle Real Madrid for defender
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Palmeiras defender Vitor Reis.
According to The Athletic, the Gunners are joined by Real Madrid in contacting Palmeiras with enquiries about Reis' future. The 18-year-old centre-back has been widely tipped to be one of the brightest defensive prospects from Brazil and has also been linked with Barcelona and Chelsea in the past.
football.london says: Arsenal are also scouting for the best talent across the globe, and Brazil has proven to be an opportunity in the past with Gabriel Martinelli being one success story. If the Gunners believe Reis' talent can match the potential that has been placed on his shoulders, then it could be a deal worth keeping an eye on in the months ahead.
