Mikel Arteta insists there is no update on Arsenal’s pursuit of Oleksandr Zinchenko as talks over a £30million transfer continue.

Personal terms are being discussed between the club and the Manchester City defender, who could be set for a reunion with Pep Guardiola’s former assistant.

On Monday, Arteta told reporters: “There is no update with anybody and when there are updates we will let you know.

“We’re looking at different options in different positions and we’ll give you an update when we have it.”

Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira have accounted for two early deals in the summer market for Arsenal but Arteta suggested that he will continue to push for deals until the end of the window.

The Spaniard added: “We’ve been trying to [sign players earlier] and we have two recruitments already.

“Until the end of the market we will keep trying to improve the squad and there are so many parties involved and sometimes things are not as quick as you want.”
