Arsenal 'offered' ideal Bukayo Saka transfer solution with bargain deal amid FFP boost
Arsenal's January transfer business is almost certain to be focused on finding a solution to the problem left by Bukayo Saka's unfortunate injury. The forward is out for some time with a hamstring problem meaning Mikel Arteta is short in the final third.
Saka was forced off in the 5-1 win over Crystal Palace before Christmas and his absence for the foreseeable future was confirmed following Friday's 1-0 win over Ipswich Town. Arteta admitted the England international is likely to be out for more than two months with injury experts insisting he could miss close to four months.
The January transfer window opens this week and the Gunners are expected to be in the market for a new attacker. A new centre-forward had seemed to be the priority ahead of Saka's injury but the recruitment focus will now be on replacing Saka for the second half of the season.

Wolves' Matheus Cunha has been one player linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium but according to reports, Paris Saint-Germain's Randal Kolo Muani has been offered to them for free.
PSG are said to have contacted Arsenal to give them the chance to sign the forward on loan until the end of the season, with a view to making it permanent in the summer. The France international has also been linked with a move to Chelsea.
Kolo Muani joined PSG in 2023 for £76million but has struggled to resemble the form he showed at Eintracht Frankfurt. It isn't the first time he's been linked with a move to Arsenal with him reportedly on their radar prior to his move to France.
Last season, he scored nine times and has managed just two in 10 appearances this term. Luis Enrique is understood to have lost patience with the forward and decided he is no longer part of his plans in Paris. The absence of an initial fee may be tempting for the Gunners with FFP concerns ongoing around the Premier League.
Naturally a striker, Kolo Muani can play on the right. Versatility has been key in Arteta's recruitment in recent years and taking the plunge on the forward could revitalise his career while helping Arsenal replace Saka.
However, Premier League rules allow just two players at any one time and the Gunners currently have Raheem Sterling and Neto on temporary contracts. Fortunately, rules do not prevent them from loaning more players from leagues outside of England with the rulebook insisting clubs can register a maximum of four loanees.
