Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke breaks into elite group after stunning £2.4bn boost
Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke has broken into the top 100 list of the planet’s wealthiest individuals.
US billionaire Kroenke, whose Kroenke Sports & Entertainment firm has owned the Gunners since 2011 having initially arrived as a minority shareholder in 2007, has a large and varied investment portfolio, including a number of sporting assets.
Arsenal, who have risen back to being title challengers once again after several years being out of the conversation, are joined by a number of major sports teams in the KSE empire, including the Los Angeles Rams (NFL), the Denver Nuggets (NBA), the Colorado Rapids (MLS) and the Colorado Avalanche (NHL). In addition to that, and the venues owned where their teams play, KSE also has a number of media brands under its umbrella, including Altitude Sports & Entertainment.

The 77-year-old has seen his wealth grow significantly in line with the growth of the firm, which at £12bn is the second most valuable sporting empire in the world, a place ahead of Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group and just behind Formula One owners Liberty Media Group.
According to Bloomberg’s real-time billionaire’s list, Kroenke has now entered the top 100 at number 99 with a net worth of $20.7bn (£15.9bn), a rise of $3.15bn (£2.4bn) year on year, representing a 17% increase.
A decade ago, Kroenke’s net worth, according to Bloomberg, stood at $4.86bn (£3.73bn). That means his increase in net worth stands at 326% over the last 10 years. His current net worth makes him the most wealthy individual to own a Premier League team, the next highest being Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
As well as his sports and entertainment investments, Kroenke is a major land owner in the US, with some 60 million square feet of real estate under his ownership much of it shopping plazas near Walmart stores. He also owns more than 1.6 million acres of ranches across the United States and Canada.
According to Forbes’ 2024 list of football team valuations, Arsenal’s saw an increase of 15% year on year, with the current value of the club at £2.1bn, aided by the vast improvements made on the pitch which have, in turn, seen the club become a regular fixture at the top table of European competition in the UEFA Champions League again.
