Arsenal could be ready for some January transfer window action, with reports this week linking the Gunners with a move for Ajax sensation Riechedly Bazoer.

The 20-year-old midfielder has already been likened to former Arsenal great Patrick Vieira, and he has been courted by a number of Europe’s biggest sides.

Liverpool are also believed to be interested, and according to Dutch press, Ajax are now considering cashing in on their latest prodigy.

However, the Dutch giants are unlikely to sell for anything under £12m.

Bazoer made his Eredivisie debut aged just 18, and has since gone on to make over 50 appearances in the Dutch first tier, in addition to regular Europa League football.

The holding midfielder has also broken through into the international scene, appearing six times for the Netherlands, including against England at Wembley earlier this year.

But Arsenal’s path may be hindered by another Premier League rival – Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola is reportedly keen on bringing Bazoer to the Eithad, and in 2012 the club offered him a three-year-deal, only for the player’s Mother to insist he was too young to move abroad.

For now Arsenal will have to turn their attentions to domestic affairs, as they welcome Bournemouth to the Emirates.

The Gunners are 2/5 to pick up three points on Sunday.
