The summer transfer window is starting to fire into life as clubs look to shape their squads ahead of the new Premier League season that starts in just under two months.

It’s no different at Arsenal as Mikel Arteta and his backroom staff work behind the scenes on potential deals. The Gunners have been linked with several players as the club look to challenge at the top of the table again in the 2024/25 campaign.

While Arsenal are not impacted, the pace of the transfer window may be impacted by other clubs’ desires to complete transfers before the end of June, when their financial year ends. For the Gunners that date came at the end of last month along with Liverpool and Wolves.

As the madness of the window starts to gather pace, here is a look at some of the latest Arsenal news. We have also given our thoughts on the situations.

Arsenal windfall

Arsenal are set to benefit from a transfer windfall due to Ipswich’s move to sign Chelsea winger Omari Hutchinson. The former Arsenal youngster moved to Stamford Bridge for an undisclosed fee in 2022, football.london understands that Arsenal inserted a sell-on clause as part of the deal .

That is now coming to fruition as Chelsea look to cash in on the 20-year-old. Hutchinson spent a successful season on loan at Ipswich, leading to the Tractor Boys making their move for the player.

Chelsea have accepted a £22 million bid from the newly-promoted side with personal terms also agreed. Arsenal will therefore now get a percentage of that fee once the deal goes through.

football.london says : While Arsenal would have been disappointed to lose Hutchinson to Chelsea at the time, the fact that they put the sell-on clause in the deal will come as a bonus two years later. It’s just reward for the impact that Arsenal would have also had on his development.

Hutchinson spent seven years in Arsenal’s academy, signing a professional contract at just 17-years-old. While he never played a first team game for the Gunners, those years at the club would have been crucial in making him the £22m player he is now.

Chelsea make second Alexander Isak move

Chelsea have joined Arsenal in showing an interest in Alexander Isak over the last week, with latest reports claiming that the Blues have made a second approach to Newcastle over the striker. football.london 's sister title ChronicleLive report s that the club have again made contact with Isak’s club to reaffirm their interest in the Sweden international.

Isak is on a list of forward options being considered by Arsenal this summer, as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his striking options. Newcastle are however said to be looking for a fee in excess of £100 million if they are to sell.

football.london says: A second approach to Newcastle over Alexander Isak as reports claim suggest that Chelsea may believe that they have a chance of completing a deal, that’s something Arsenal must keep an eye on

It is reported that Newcastle will be looking for a fee in excess of £115 million if they were to cash in this summer, but the mere fact that the Blues have continued to persue a possible deal could suggest that they've not been completely put off by Newcastle's stance.

One big factor could be the unofficial Profitability and Sustainability deadline. If Newcastle still need to make up a deficit by Sunday - the final day that counts towards this season's financial accounts, then they could potentially be willing to cash in on their star player.

It's a situation to keep a close eye on over the next couple of days.
