Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will have been using a portion of the November international break to prepare for the January transfer window. Plans may have been disrupted slightly following confirmations of Edu's departure, however Arteta has certainly attempted to keep things ticking.

The Gunners' mixed form has not helped matters with a four-game winless run in the Premier League seeing them sit in fourth, nine points off leaders Liverpool. A marquee move in the winter trading period could certainly change their fortunes but it certainly appears as though Arsenal will be reactive rather than proactive after Christmas.

Their plans, drawing up candidates to replace Edu and decisions for next summer will have been among the topics discussed at the big board meeting in the United States with the Kroenke family. Following that, Arsenal have been involved in plenty of transfer rumours with a huge update emerging that could also benefit Kai Havertz.

With that being said, football.london has taken a look at all the big Arsenal transfer headlines that includes a new update on a former target.

The transfer to unleash Havertz

Though he has faced criticism, Kai Havertz's first 15 months in an Arsenal shirt can certainly be considered a success. There is always room for improvement however, with many of the belief he needs to be more clinical in front of goal if the plan is for him to lead the line going forward.

Based on what happened during Germany's thumping Nations League 7-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina, a huge transfer could fully unleash him. The Arsenal star picked up three goal contributions with two of those involving Florian Wirtz.

The Bayer Leverkusen star, said to be valued at £100million, combined with Havertz to make it 3-0 before the latter returned the favour to pick up the assist for Wirtz's first goal of the evening. Havertz also set up Leroy Sane's goal midway through the second half.

football.london says: "If Arsenal can win the eventual transfer race for Wirtz, they would not only be signing a very talented player, but also a creative magician that can help Havertz reach his potential.

"In just 58 minutes on the pitch, the 21-year-old showed exactly what he could bring to Arteta's team. Such a marquee transfer being sanctioned in January is of course extremely unlikely, though he could be the big signing ahead of the 2025/26 season.

"Arsenal, whether inadvertently or not, have reunited past teammates and fellow international stars with that being repeated a real possibility."

Raphinha decision after 'transfer meeting'

Barcelona star Raphinha has been in excellent form this season and as such, has been linked with a transfer to Arsenal. Following on from the overseas transfer meeting, reports in Spain suggest the Gunners are ready to offer up to £75million in order to finally secure his signature.

The Brazil international was linked with an Emirates Stadium switch back in the summer of 2022 when he joined Barcelona from Leeds.

football.london says: "Raphinha's stock is arguably as high as it has ever been and therefore Arsenal's hopes of signing him look to be dwindling.

"Having become a hugely influential player under Hansi Flick, the 27-year-old is being monitored by several top European clubs. Talk of Arsenal willing to part ways with £75million is certainly intriguing and it is entirely plausible Barca accept such a proposal given their long-term financial issues.

"With that being said, there are more pressing matters that need dealing with first. The addition of a striker or versatile attacker is more of a priority than signing a winger, especially on the preferred side of Bukayo Saka."
