Arsenal suffered a double fitness blow before their clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday. The Gunners are six points behind Liverpool going into the weekend fixtures, having played a game more.

Injuries have been a running theme for Arsenal this season and manager Mikel Arteta is currently having to contend with a number of absentees. The most notable of which at the moment is key attacker Bukayo Saka.

But club captain Martin Odegaard and summer signing Mikel Merino are both out of today's match at Molineux too.

According to Sky Sports reporter Johnny Phillips, Odegaard was sent home from the team hotel on the morning of the game due to illness, while Merino has picked up 'a knock' that will rule him out.

As much as the Gunners have a big injury list, William Saliba, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri all returned to the XI for the Wolves contest.

Like Arsenal, Liverpool kick off at 3pm. The Reds host Ipswich Town, who are in the relegation zone after their promotion back to the top flight.
