Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez recovered from a 7,000-mile round trip during the international break in time to start against Manchester City.

Mesut Ozil was also included in Arsene Wenger's XI to face City at Emirates Stadium, while Danny Welbeck was chosen to lead the line ahead of Olivier Giroud, who was named among the substitutes.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain missed out with a hamstring injury, while Aaron Ramsey is recovering from a calf problem.

The Gunners find themselves nine-points off the top four following Saturday's results, and on a run of four defeats from their last five Premier League matches.
