Arsenal are working hard on deals for Brighton defender Ben White and Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga after having opening bids for the pair knocked back.

The Gunners made offers for both players this week, tabling £40million for White and around £13m for Lokonga.

Both bids were knocked back, but Arsenal remain very keen on the duo and are still working hard to bring them in.

The club are looking to bolster their squad this summer and they hold an interest in Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who was called into the England squad this week, and Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves.

A move for Ramsdale, however, will depend on the future of Bernd Leno, who is expected to hold talks with Arsenal about his future.

The German currently has two years left on his contract and has hinted he could be open to a new challenge this summer.

Arsenal have not given up hope that they could keep Martin Odegaard, but the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid has dented their chances.

The Norwegian is due to hold talks with Ancelotti about his future, however it is thought he will be given a chance to showcase his talent in pre-season and could now stay in Madrid.

Arsenal have also not ruled out keeping goalkeeper Mat Ryan on a permanent deal after his successful loan spell from Brighton.

The Australian made a very good impression while at the club and is a favourite among players and staff.

Ryan, however, could be tempted by the prospect of securing first-team football elsewhere and has been linked with a move to Celtic.

Arsenal are expected to be very busy with outgoings and defender Konstantinos Mavropanos is in talks with Stuttgart over a £7m move.

The club will hold talks with Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Eddie Nketiah over their futures, but it is expected both will be allowed to leave for the right price.

They are also open to offers for Sead Kolasinac and Matteo Guendouzi, with the latter attracting strong interest from Marseille. Lucas Torreira is due to return from his loan at Atletico Madrid and he is up for sale too.

Granit Xhaka’s representatives, meanwhile, remain in talks with Roma over a fee for him, with the player keen for a new challenge this summer.

Arsenal are due to hold talks with Joe Willock in the coming weeks to decide his future after a fine loan spell at Newcastle.

The Magpies would like to keep Willock, but Arsenal will sit down with Willock and discuss his future before making any decision.

Talks will also be had with Alexandre Lacazette as he has one year left on his deal this summer.

Calum Chambers is also expected to speak to the club as he is in the same situation as Lacazette, although the right-back is understood to have an option to extend his deal by a year.

Mikel Arteta has been impressed by Chambers resurgence since his return from injury and it is not out of the question he signs a new deal with the club.
