Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has rotated his side as they head north to take on Newcastle in the Premier League this afternoon.

The Gunners played the first leg of their Europa League semi-final with Villarreal on Thursday and are due to face them again next week.

Given the tight turnaround - and the fact Arsenal’s season rests on the Europa League - Arteta has shuffled his pack for the trip to St. James' Park.

Hector Bellerin comes into the defence, while David Luiz makes his first start since recovering from a knee injury picked up in March.

Mohamed Elneny gets a rare start in midfield, alongside Dani Ceballos, who keeps his place given he is suspended for the second leg with Villarreal.

Up front, captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang starts after coming off the bench on Thursday night following his battle with malaria.

Arsenal starting XI (4-2-3-1): Ryan, Bellerin, Luiz, Gabriel, Xhaka, Elneny, Ceballos, Willian, Odegaard, Martinelli, Aubameyang.
