Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has named his starting XI to take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League this afternoon (3pm kick-off).

He has made four changes from the side which lost 2-0 at Liverpool before the November international break. Lamare Bogarde, Ian Maatsen, Ross Barkley and John McGinn all come into the starting XI.

From back to front, Emi Martinez starts in goal behind a defence of Bogarde, Diego Carlos, Pau Torres and Maatsen. Barkley will operate alongside Youri Tielemans in midfield as Leon Bailey plays from the right and McGinn on the left. Morgan Rogers will support Ollie Watkins up front.

Villa’s only defeat in 12 Premier League home matches against Palace came on Boxing Day in 2013. They have kept six clean sheets and never conceded more than once in any of those meetings.

The Eagles can remain winless after six Premier League away games of a season for the second time. It took them nine attempts to earn a first away victory in 2017-18.

Palace’s tally of seven points from 11 matches is their third lowest at this stage of a Premier League season, while Oliver Glasner’s side have led for just 104 minutes in the league this season; only West Ham United have fared worse.

Aston Villa XI: Martinez, Bogarde, Carlos, Pau, Maatsen, Barkley, Tielemans, Bailey, McGinn, Rogers, Watkins.

Subs: Olsen, Cash, Mings, Digne, Nedeljkovic, Broggio, Buendia, Philogene, Duran.

Crystal Palace XI: Henderson, Munoz, Lacroix, Chalobah, Guehi, Mitchell, Hughes, Devenny, Doucoure, Mateta, Sarr.

Subs: Turner, Matthews, Ward, Lerma, Schlupp, Clyne, Richards, Kporha, Agbinone.
