Yamile Aldama of Britain bites her gold medal during the awards ceremony for the women's Triple Jump at the world indoor athletics championships at the Atakoy Athletics Arena in Istanbul

The 40-year-old triple jumper will return to Scotland for the British Athletics Glasgow International Match on January 26 having jumped 14.03m to win this time last year.

Aldama will form part of Great Britain and Northern Ireland squad set to go head-to-head with Germany, Russia, USA and a Commonwealth Select team in Glasgow.

Following on from her performance in Scotland last year, Aldama won the UK title before claiming the world equivalent in Istanbul with what would be a season's best 14.82m.

Aldama went on to finish fifth at the London 2012 Olympics and she insists her return to Glasgow can't come soon enough as she targets March's European Indoor Championships.

"I really enjoy competing indoors and winning at Glasgow last year was a fantastic experience that set me up for my performance at the world indoors," said Aldama.

"Hopefully I can perform well again this year and give myself good preparation for the European Indoor Championships in Gothenburg.

"It's always great to jump on home soil and I'm sure the Glasgow crowd will create another brilliant atmosphere and give plenty of support to the British athletes."
