The 27-year-old is part of a seven-strong British 4x400m squad which includes Nigel Levine, Daniel Awde, Michael Bingham, Jamie Bowie, Luke Lennon-Ford and Conrad Williams.
Buck was part of the British quartet that won silver in 2012, two years after winning bronze, as well as the European indoor title in Gothenburg this time last year.
He'll also race individually over 400m in Sopot and, while his aims for that are to simply make the final, Buck insists the top step of the podium is being targeted in the relay.
"To get to the final would be a great achievement," said Buck, who was selected as part of Britain's 4x400m relay team for the London 2012 Olympics but didn't run.
"I would love to challenge for a medal. My times aren't out of touch with everyone. The relay team has been growing in strength over the past couple of years.
"We were so close to taking gold at the last World Championships and we are the reigning European champions.
"We are going to look for the gold and, while it would be great to come away with a medal, there is a lot of expectation among ourselves."
