Athletics-Kenya name team for world championships

NAIROBI, Aug 1 (Reuters) - Kenya named their team on Saturday for this month's world championships in Beijing following the national trials. Some top athletes were granted wildcard entries, including world 3,000 metres champion Caleb Mwangangi and Mercy Cherono, who will compete in Beijing over 5,000m despite finishing second at the trials in the 1,500m. Olympic 10,000m silver medallist Sally Kipyego, who suffered stomach cramps and did not finish the women's 10,000m on Friday, was also included in the team.
