Atletico Madrid are reportedly unwilling to offer any discounts to Barcelona in their pursuit of Belgian attacking-midfielder Yannick Carrasco and will insist that the previously agreed fee of €19million be paid in full. This is according to David G Medina of MARCA. Barcelona had secured a preferential buy option for Carrasco as part of the deal that saw Memphis Depay move to Atletico Madrid during the winter transfer window. There have been different reports about the fee that was agreed upon between the two clubs for Carrasco. While some media outlets suggested it was as low as €9million, most reports suggest it was in the range of €15-20million. However, David G Medina has issued a clarification stating that Barcelona and Atletico Madrid agreed on a fee of €19million for Carrasco's services. Recent reports suggest that Barcelona have no intention of paying the full fee for the 29-year-old winger and instead wish to negotiate a lower fee with Atletico Madrid. However, Atletico have reportedly rejected any new offers and will only sell the player to Barcelona if they pay the full previously agreed amount of €19million. Carrasco's current contract with Atletico Madrid expires in the summer of 2024, which means he will be in the final year of his contract this summer. Despite receiving offers from the Premier League, the winger has refused to consider moving to other clubs, choosing instead to focus on a move to Barcelona. Carrasco has scored seven goals and set up four more this season. Although he seems to have his heart set on an exit from the Civitas Metropolitano, the ball is now in Barcelona's court as they decide whether they are willing to pay the €19million fee to sign him or not. While there have been rumours of a possible swap deal that could see Carrasco and Ferran Torres trade clubs, the chances of such an operation materialising seem to be extremely slim.
