It's second versus fifth in LaLiga as Atletico Madrid welcome Barcelona to the Wanda Metropolitano this evening.

The visitors, who secured Champions League qualification as group winners with a convincing win over Borussia Dortmund in midweek, will be looking to return to the top of the table on goal difference, after Real Madrid beat Alaves on Saturday.

Atletico, meanwhile, can go above the Catalans and into second on goal difference with a win, but must rediscover their goalscoring form - they are unbeaten in ten games in the league, but have only scored 11 goals in that time.

Diego Simeone's side haven't won since returning from the international break, having been held at Granada last weekend and beaten by Juventus in the Champions League.

Atletico vs Barcelona
Venue: Wanda Metropolitano
Kick-off time: 8pm GMT, Sunday 1 December

Team news and predicted line-ups

Barcelona will be without Ousmane Dembele and Sergio Busquets for Sunday’s trip to Atletico Madrid in La Liga.

Dembele suffered a thigh injury in Wednesday night’s 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League and the Catalan club revealed on Friday that he will be out of action for around 10 weeks.

Meanwhile, Busquets is suspended and that will mean a midfield reshuffle for the game at the Wanda Metropolitano. Frenkie de Jong looks likely to play the pivot role in Busquets’ absence, with Arturo Vidal and Arthur expected to fill the other two positions.

Jordi Alba is doubtful, so Junior Firpo should continue at left-back, with Sergi Roberto on the right as Nelson Semedo misses out through injury.

Gerard Pique will return to the side in central defence after missing the win over Dortmund through suspension.

Atletico possible XI: Oblak; Trippier, Felipe, Hermoso, Lodi; Joao Felix, Saul, Thomas, Koke; Morata, Correa

Barcelona possible XI: Ter Stegen; Sergi Roberto, Pique, Lenglet, Junior; De Jong, Arthur, Vidal; Messi, Suarez, Griezmann

Prediction: Atletico 0-1 Barcelona

Expect a cagey game, but Barcelona should just have enough to find a breakthrough, while Atleti's struggles in front of goal may go on.

Past results and head to head record

This fixture last season ended in a 1-1 draw, as Ousmane Dembele scored a 90th minute equaliser to cancel out Diego Costa's opener.

Barcelona would have the last laugh in the reverse fixture at the Nou Camp, as two goals in two minutes late on from Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi earned victory after Costa had been sent off.
