Aurelien Tchouameni won the Champions League with Real Madrid on Saturday night. Today, he has made a generous offer to a Liverpool fan.

The midfielder joined Real Madrid from Monaco in 2022, having been heavily linked with Liverpool. The Spanish giant had just beaten the Reds in the Champions League final, and made it a double whammy by winning the race for Tchouameni's signature.

A year later, Real Madrid would land Jude Bellingham, compounding Liverpool's midfield issues. But while the likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai have been signed as alternatives in that more advanced area, the holding role remains largely unplugged, save for the stop-gap signing of Wataru Endo.

Elite players rarely leave Real Madrid, so Liverpool will consider its Tchouameni transfer hopes more or less over, especially with veteran Toni Kroos retiring after victory in the Champions League final over Borussia Dortmund. But while the Frenchman has not offered his services to Anfield, he has nonetheless made a major gesture to a supporter.

An account named 'Capitano' on X, with 'LFC' in its bio, quoted a post of Tchouameni after the match. The photo showed him with his feet crossed next to the Champions League trophy, with bright pink Nike boots clearly on display.

"Those phantoms [the football boots] are unreal man i need (sic)," wrote the Liverpool supporter. A fairly run-of-the-mill post commenting on some nice boots, until Tchouameni replied. "Do you want them?" he asked. He then added a handshake emoji.

Naturally, the fan was stunned, but eagerly took up the offer. "My heart is RACING brother, there’s no way... and 1000 times yes please", he wrote.

With any luck, the boots Tchouameni wore in the Champions League final (though he never made it off the bench) will now be making their way to him. It's an unexpected but nice touch — although it's probably as close as Liverpool can hope to get to the 24-year-old this summer. says: With so few specialists in his position, you almost wonder if missing Tchouameni was a bigger blow to Liverpool than missing out on Bellingham. Certainly, a world-class number six will still be on the agenda this summer, with Arne Slot now at the reins.

The fact Tchouameni didn't even feature in the Champions League final could give Liverpool some sort of hope of reviving a deal, but Real Madrid knows it has a talent on its hands, and knows its engine room is entering a new era. And the midfielder would almost certainly have played a role had he not only just been coming back from a foot injury anyway, so there's no real story here — other than a kind gesture to a fan.
