Novak Djokovic has progressed to the semi-finals after his quarter-final opponent, Kei Nishikori, was forced to retire in the second set.
Serena Williams suffered one of the shock results of her career as she threw away a 5-1 lead in the final set to crash out in three sets to Karolina Pliskova.
The Czech won six games in a row, saving four match points in the process, to seal a historic comeback and set up a semi-final clash with Naomi Osaka, who beat Elina Svitolina in straight sets.
Following on from there, the upsets continued! Frenchman Lucas Pouille defeated Milan Raonic in four sets on Rod Laver.
