Leicester's Adcock will be in Birmingham next week competing at the Yonex All-England Open Badminton Championships with Ellis, in what is seen as one of the major tournaments in the sport's calendar.

And having helped England to a bronze medal at the European Team Championships in Russia, beating Denmark's top seeds Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogenson along the way, London 2012 Olympian Adcock is confident of success.

"It is a real boost for me that Andy is back, especially as we have just shown by beating the world's number one pair - that shows how much we can do together," said the 23-year-old.

"It was an amazing feeling and hopefully that can be a catalyst for us to move forward and bring more results like that.

"It's a great thing to beat the best pair in the world, we just need to make sure we are consistent with that level and take that forward to All-England and many different tournaments in the future."
