Bailey hoping to re-capture debut of 'one-Test wonder' Jeff Moss

Sydney, Nov 19 (ANI): Australian ODI captain George Bailey is reportedly hoping to echo the debut of Australian one-Test wonder Jeff Moss in the Gabba Test of the winter Ashes series, although not the rest of his non-existent Test career. Although Moss did not hit a century or collect a five-wicket haul, he did have the honour of hitting the winning runs against Pakistan in the second Test in 1979, though there was a sour postscript to the game for him - he never wore the baggy green again. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, more than three decades since he retired, Moss' name has reappeared again thanks to Bailey, who on Thursday will become the oldest Australian batsman since Moss more than 34 years ago to make his Test debut. The report mentioned that Moss made 22 and 38 not out, not sufficient to get a second Test but enough to have him finish above the likes of some of Australia's finest players such as Allan Border, Steve Waugh and Ricky Ponting and get a Test average of 60.
