Bailey 'wary' of Indian 'comeback star' Yuvraj Singh ahead of limited-overs series

Sydney, Oct 10 (ANI): Australian captain George Bailey, who is acting in place of injured skipper Michael Clarke, has expressed his wariness over Indian 'comeback star' Yuvraj Singh ahead of the limited-overs series, which starts with a Twenty20 match in Rajkot on Thursday.

Singh has not played for India since January, as he took time to regain his fitness and form following last year's cancer battle, although he was selected in India's 15-man squad for the series due to his run of big scores for India A against West Indies A and South Africa A.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the left-handed Singh, who is a likely starter in India's team for the T20 clash, has kept Bailey on tenterhooks ahead of the match and the seven ODIs especially after he was given a quick refresher of Singh's game-changing ability from replayed old matches.

Stating that Singh is a 'really dangerous' player, Bailey said that the Indian batsman was prominent in the few highlights he (Bailey) had watched, adding that it is necessary to be wary of Singh as he can come onto the pitch looking casual and then in the next moment, shows his capacity of 'clearing the rope'.

According to Bailey, it is important for Australia to stay clear on their plans and continue to be aggressive at Singh throughout his innings.

Meanwhile, Indian captain MS Dhoni said that his main concern was trying to ensure that his experienced teammate is not too heavily burdened in his comeback. (ANI)
