Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has denied any interest in bringing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang back to the Camp Nou.

While the 33-year-old has not yet been made available for either a loan or a sale at Stamford Bridge, Graham Potter preferred Kai Havertz in attack even before the arrival of Joao Felix.

Standard Sport understands Atletico Madrid have enquired as to the former Arsenal striker’s availability, with Chelsea expecting a market for him to emerge in Spain.

FIFA registration rules mean Aubameyang would be unavailable to play for a third European club this season having featured for Barca back in August. A summer move, however, is seen as a possibility.

Still, the Catalan giants were linked with a shock move to bring the Gabon star back to the club in the wake of Felix’s loan move.

Atletico, meanwhile, are interested in Barca striker Memphis Depay as they attempt to replace Felix and Matheus Cunha.

Speaking to reporters, Xavi said: “We are happy with the squad. In principle, there will be no changes. There has been no meeting.

On Depay, the Barca boss added: “We do not know anything. We will see what happens. I told the board that I’d be happy if the squad remains as it is.”
