One of Barcelona's members has announced plans for a censure motion against president Josep Maria Bartomeu.

Elections are due to take place at Barca in the summer of 2021, when members (socis) will vote for a new president as Bartomeu finishes his second term in charge.

But Josep Cremades has revealed he is looking to collect enough signatures for a censure motion vote, which could see the 57-year-old removed from his post this summer.

"The management by this board is unacceptable," Cremades told Cadena SER.

"We have more than 2,000 signatures, but fewer than 5,000."

According to Article 5 of the Barca statutes, 15 per cent of total members' signatures must be collected in the space of 14 days in order for a vote to take place.

Former presidential candidate Agusti Benedito revealed he had over 10,000 signatures as he looked for a censure motion to prosper in 2017, but the businessman was unable to meet the necessary 16,000 to bring about a vote.

With far fewer signatures gained, Cremades' attempt at removing Bartomeu therefore seems unlikely to succeed.
