The Champions League returns tonight with what looks the tie of the round as Barcelona host Paris Saint-Germain at the Camp Nou.

While Barcelona’s season has been anything but straightforward, the Catalan giants appear to have hit peak form at just the right time, on a run of seven straight league wins, with Lionel Messi clicking into top gear after scoring twice in Saturday’s 5-1 rout of Alaves.

PSG, meanwhile, have changed managers since the group stages, with Thomas Tuchel sacked in December and since replaced by Mauricio Pochettino. The Parisien side are top of Ligue 1 only on goal difference, but it is in Europe where Pochettino’s reign will surely be defined as he looks to take the club one better than last year’s final defeat to Bayern Munich.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Barcelona vs PSG is scheduled for an 8pm kick-off today, February 16, 2021.

The match will be held behind closed doors at Camp Nou because of current coronavirus restrictions.

Team news

Jordi Alba is likely to return at left-back after being an unused substitute in the win over Alaves, while injury problems at centre-back mean Frenkie de Jong is expected to continue in the position.

PSG will be without star forward Neymar because of a thigh injury, while Angel Di Maria is also out.
