Barry Ferguson told ref 'controversy' underpins Rangers turnaround as raging McInnes finds allies over Kilmarnock U turn
Fuming Derek McInnes has been told he was right to feel aggrieved about Rangers equaliser during their defeat to Rangers.
The home side raced into a 2-0 lead at Rugby Park before Vaclav Cerny gave Barry Ferguson's side a lifeline before the break. However, McInnes would be left gutted after referee Don Robertson awarded a corner kick from which the visitors levelled at the start of the second-half - after initially appearing to award a goal kick to Kilmarnock following Ianis Hagi's shot at goal.
James Tavernier would deliver into the box before Cyriel Dessers scored to level the game - and Rangers would move up the gears to see of Killie in a 4-2 victory. Speaking after the full-time whistle, irked McInnes said: “The second goal was a free header in the six yard box. We blocked ourselves and got ourselves in a state. That said, it's not a corner.

"Don Robertson has given the goal kick and allowed the linesman 30 yards away to give a corner. There’s no touch, but we still need to defend the corner."
And speaking to BBC Sportscene, former Rangers man Stephen Thompson flagged the flashpoint: “Dessers bagged a double. The first of which, had a bit of controversy about it.”
Richard Foster went on: ‘Hagi has the shot, and the referee points for a goal kick. And the all of a sudden he changes his mind, so he has obviously been helped by out by his linesman there who thinks that is a corner. I don’t see see the touch, but you still need to defend the corner properly.”
Former Ibrox midfielder Steven Davis also admitted it was a lucky moment for his side. He told Sky Sports: "It's a bit inconclusive, but It doesn’t look like it probably is a corner. But Rangers get the benefit of that."
