Barry McGuigan's heartbreaking eight-word comment about daughter after leaving I'm A Celebrity
Barry McGuigan made a heartbreaking remark about his late daughter after leaving I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!.
The former world champion boxer proved a fan favourite on the latest series of the ITV show alongside the likes of Strictly dancer Oti Mabuse, TV personality Coleen Rooney and McFly singer Danny Jones, who was ultimately crowned the new King of the Jungle. After making it through the first few eliminations, however, McGuigan was the fifth contestant to leave the jungle, finishing eighth overall.
He appeared with the rest of his campmates at the final to watch Jones win the show, but exactly what he did after returning to civilisation will be shown in a new 'Coming Out' episode on Friday evening, with scenes showing him reunite with his beloved wife Sandra after leaving the jungle.

The 63-year-old was responsible for one of the most memorable moments of the recent series, when he opened up to his campmates about the loss of his daughter Danika, who died in 2019 aged just 33. The promising actress passed away just over a month after being diagnosed with cancer and McGuigan has admitted he will "never come to terms" with her death.
Discussing his tragic loss on the show, he told journalist Jane Moore that Danika "had pains in her tummy but she was making a movie. She put it off and went to the doctor, called us all in. Stage 4 bowel cancer, five weeks, five weeks she died."
Those scenes left viewers in tears, with host Ant McPartlin also getting emotional in the studio. And after McGuigan left the jungle and was reunited with his wife, his late daughter was at the forefront of his mind.
Hugging Sandra, he told her: "I miss my child, I miss my girl," adding: "It’s the first time I’ve been away in a long time. I know she would have loved it."
In response, his wife replied simply: "She’d have been here.”
After returning back to his hotel, McGuigan was also stunned at how much weight he lost during his jungle stint, as he stepped on the scales to discover he was now a whopping seven kilos lighter than he was when he entered.
"Good god," said the surprised former boxer. "That’s 15 and a half pounds - back down to championship weight!"
However, he soon got to work putting the pounds back on as he tucked into a full English breakfast and told the camera crew: "Sorry, I’m not going to share it with you. It tastes amazing."
