LeBron James ticked off Cleveland fans when he left for the Miami Heat three years ago, but Cavaliers forward Anderson Varejao thinks his former team-mate could return after his contract expires at the end of the 2013-14 season.

"It could happen," Varejao said, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. "Bron is from Akron. Akron is not too far from here. Eventually in his career, he probably wants to play at home."

James has refused to discuss free agency.

After Wednesday night's game against the Cavs at Cleveland, James will host his Heat team-mates at his home in the Akron area for Thanksgiving dinner.

Allen Iverson's No. 3 number and jersey will be placed among the Philadelphia 76ers' greatest players.

The team announced that Iverson's number will be officially retired during a ceremony on March 1 when the 76ers play host to the Washington Wizards. Iverson formally announced his retirement on October 30.

The 6-foot, 165-pound Iverson spent 10 1/2 seasons with the 76ers and led the team to the NBA Finals in 2001, when he was named the league's MVP.

The Sacramento Kings have recalled rookie guard Ray McCallum from Reno of the NBA Development League.

McCallum was sent to the Bighorns on Nov. 21 and averaged a team-leading 22.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.33 steals in three games. He scored a season-high 28 points in a game against Sioux Falls on November 22.
