Bastian Schweinsteiger Posts Twitter Message Claiming Man Utd Will Be His 'Last European Club'

Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has posted a message on Twitter confirming that he will not move to another European club - despite the fact he has been frozen out of the United first team squad by Jose Mourinho.

The former Bayern Munich midfielder signed for United last summer, but after struggling with injury in his first season under Louis van Gaal, has failed to be considered by his new manager after the arrival of Paul Pogba.

However, his ambiguous message seems to suggest he could seek a final payday in either Major League Soccer or the Chinese Super League - but he's prepared to stay at Old Trafford and fight for his place until a transfer can be arranged.

Schweinsteiger's note read: "MUFC will be my last club in Europe. I respect other clubs, but Manchester United was the only one which could make me leave Bayern Munich.

"I will be ready, if the team needs me. This is all I can say about the current situation. I want to thank the fans for the amazing support over the recent weeks."

United were earlier this week reported to be ready to offload the 32-year-old for as little as £2m, in order to ensure he's removed from the wage bill for the coming season. Schweinsteiger is training with the club's reserves as it stands.
