Bath Rugby injury latest ahead of Sale Sharks: Cam Redpath, Alfie Barbeary, Tom de Glanville, Archie Griffin
Scotland international centre Cam Redpath is set to undergo a scan on his leg after pulling out of Saturday’s win against Harlequins late in the day with ‘muscle stiffness.’
Redpath is currently a doubt, but not entirely ruled out, for Saturday’s Round Six clash with Sale Sharks which will cause selection problems for Bath head of rugby Johann van Graan with his five-strong England contingent, headlined by centre Ollie Lawrence, unavailable for selection this weekend as they prepare for the Autumn internationals. Add to that the injury to Max Ojomoh and it means van Graan has just Will Butt, 20-year-old Louie Hennessey and fly-half Orlando Bailey to select from at centre for the final game of this first Premiership block before the first tranche of Premiership Rugby Cup games then gets underway. And Bailey could be required to be drafted in at 15 with Tom de Glanville also suffering a knock at The Stoop.

Speaking in his midweek press conference, van Graan said: “There is a bit of doubt there with Cam. He will go for a scan and once we have got a bit more info we will know the situation. He felt some leg stiffness before the game and we pulled him out as a precaution and we are going to investigate it a bit further.
“Tom de Glanville has gone for a check-up, we will see how he is at the back of the week. We played three warm-up games and this weekend is the sixth round of the Premiership, so that is nine games straight and unfortunately Sam Harris got injured after that first game so we are a bit thin in the back three.
“Tom has taken on the challenge of that full-back role since Matt Gallagher left and he had some amazing moments at the weekend. He is a very important player for us and we will try and manage him through the week and see how he is on Friday.
Fresh from another Wales call-up, tighthead prop Archie Griffin is back in full training having been unavailable for several weeks due to illness. His return is timely with Will Stuart away with England, although Thomas du Toit will be available this weekend despite having been called by the Springboks again ahead of the Autumn Nations Series. The other England absentees are Sam Underhill, Charlie Ewels and Ben Spencer.
Number eight Alfie Barbeary is also unavailable this weekend having suffered a serious whiplash head injury against Harlequins.
Van Graan explained: “Alfie took a massive knock with the whiplash he got and the protocol is a 12-day step away from the game because he was immediately removed so he won’t be involved with us this weekend.”
