Bayern have ‘bigger’ chance of signing Kane this summer with Tuchel at the helm
Bayern Munich’s chances of signing Harry Kane this summer have been boosted by the arrival of Thomas Tuchel according to reports.
The German club made the bold decision to part ways with Julian Nagelsmann and replace him with the former Chelsea boss.
Tuchel indeed boasts an excellent managerial CV and he will already be thinking about reshaping the squad to his needs.
Kane has been a long-term target for Bayern and according to the latest reports, their chances of signing him have been boosted by Tuchel.
“Tuchel will have one shot – that could be an expensive one! This could now be Harry Kane,” Christian Falk told CaughtOffside.
“When a new manager is coming in, of course, there’s the likelihood of players going out in addition to coming in.
“He wants a lot of players, so they have to get money in. Ultimately, the chance to get Kane in is bigger now that Tuchel has joined the club and I think there will be something in the summer now.”
Since the departure of Robert Lewandowski in the summer, Bayern have been searching for a new number nine.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has done a good job for them in the meantime, but he is not seen as a long-term option.
Kane’s future at Tottenham has been up in the air for quite some time as his contract is set to expire in 2024.
Along with Bayern, Manchester United also hold an interest in Kane and are expected to make a move for a striker in the summer.
Tottenham will reportedly demand a minimum of £100million for Kane in the summer and they are still trying to agree on a fresh contract with the forward.
Kane has scored 21 league goals this season and is on course to have one of his most prolific campaigns in front of goal.
The England forward recently broke Wayne Rooney’s record and became England’s outright top scorer with 54 goals.
“Yeah, it means everything, you know,” Kane told Channel 4.
“We were so excited to put the England shirt back on and get back out here and get the campaign started for the Euros next year.
“It had to be a penalty of course and once it hit the back of the net it was just so much emotion.
“Just thanks to all the players, the staff, the fans, my wife, my family back home and everyone who has helped me get to this stage. It is just a magical moment.”
